Bonuses: Getting Started

What are bonuses?

They are extra cash or freebet awards offered by bookmakers to gamblers for opening an account and depositing.

What are the types bookmaker bonuses?
There are several types of bonuses with the most common being “freebet” awards, then “cash credits” then “double winnings” and “losing bet refunds”.

Cash bonus – Money is added to your account balance by the gambling company. For example: A new user has made a €100 deposit to the bookmaker and the bookmaker offered 100% cash bonus up to €100 for all new customers. This will mean that the balance will instantly jump to €200.

To withdraw this money it must be rolled over several times usually at a minimum level of odds. This can be in as many or as few bets as you like but the bets should total several times the received bonus. Each bookmaker offering a cash bonus will have its own conditions for that bonus. For instance if there is a 5X rollover it means that the new user should make bets of not less than €500 before he/she will have the right to withdraw funds.

Free bet – Free bonuses differ from cash bonus because this bonus isn’t full value money. This is a conditional amount of money only to be used for betting with. If the bet loses then the return is nothing but nothing is lost either (the amount of bet was bonus). On the other hand if this free bet wins then the winnings will be add to your betting account and there will usually be no additional conditions to withdraw.

Money back or refund – A set amount of money will be refunded by the bookmaker if certain T&Cs are met. As a rule the losing amount will be refunded on certain games (offered by bookmaker) where for example the match score is 0-0, there is a red card in the football match, or at least one goal was scored by particular player, etc, etc.

What are the sizes of bookmaker’s bonuses?

The average size of the bonus are from €20 to €150 although occasionally there are super offers. For instance MANSION bookmaker once in September 2006 allowed gamblers to bet €1000 on the opening NFL match and if the bet lost then the bookmaker would refund the bet in full!

Why do bookmakers offer bonuses?

It is because there is so much competition for new customers on the Internet. Every gambling company is trying to catch as large a share of the market as possible. Using the bonuses from the bookmakers is an excellent opportunity to earn additional money from sports betting. It is crazy not to use this!
